Ubisoft has just announced a new addition for their “The Experience” line, centered around the unmistakable sounds of Rebecca Black! After the massive success of Michael Jackson The Experience, Ubisoft created The Black Eyed Peas Experience and are rumored to be making Lady Gaga The Experience. It only makes sense for them to continue the trend of huge artists and hit music with Rebecca Black The Experience!
Official press release as follows:
“Los Angeles – February 23, 2012 – Today, Ubisoft® announced the development of an interactive performance-based video game, inspired by the hit sensation of 2011, Rebecca Black. The game is family entertainment at its best and will provide an interactive experience that enables players to step into the teenage shoes of Rebecca Black herself and re-live her most iconic performances through their own singing and dancing. The upcoming game will include the three tracks from Rebecca Black’s extensive catalogue: Friday, My Moment and Person of Interest, as well as an array of her back-seat dance moves for players to learn and immitate within the game. Additionally, fans will be able to sing along and compare their vocal skills while immersed in the performance. It will be as challenging on their voices as it is on their ears!
Rebecca Black, one of the most widely criticized entertainers and the most popular Twitter topic of early 2011, leaves an inedible imprint on popular music and culture. During her extraordinary career, Black released three songs onto iTunes. She may have won a Teen Choice award one time. Her music video for “Friday” was the world’s #1 YouTube video of all last year, with more than 3.2 million “dislikes” in it’s first six months!
“Rebecca has always pushed every limit of her listener’s patience to give her fans unforgettable experiences, whether it involved her videos, her recordings or her TODAY show interview,” said Patrice Wilson, co-founder of Ark Music Factory. “Now, with this interactive product under her name, we have the chance to bring me, an artist, into households around the world in a perfect match of my artistry and the family entertainment which I always claim to value. Poor kids, their parents, extended family members and friends will now have an opportunity to all come together and experience that part where I rap about a bus in an innovative, exciting and fun way. Oh, and Rebecca Black sings in it, too.”
“Wii, Wii, Wii so excited to have the opportunity to develop a game based on the songs and movements of one of the world’s most interesting performers of her time,” said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. “We expect the game to bring Rebecca Black fans, haters, friends and enemies together through the amusing song and dance of ‘the R.B.’”
The game will be available exclusively for Nintendo’s WiiTM system, some time between the start of E3 and the end of 2012.
