Hands-On With Imported Star Fox 64 3D Figurines By Takara Tomy Complete With Gallery

It’s no secret I’m a huge Star Fox fan and when I got word that new Star Fox 64 3D figurines would be launching in Japan I knew I had to get my hands on them. Officially launching in May, the Star Fox 64 3D model sets launched alongside the Steel Diver sets which is apart of the Takara Tomy A.R.T.S. line. Each model retails for roughly $3.50 and I was able to find the complete set brand-new on eBay for about $30. I was surprised to receive such a small package, although I knew that for how cheap they were they must have been small.  After opening the package I found each model individually wrapped complete with a set of instructions that was identical for all models.

I started to assemble the Landmaster tank first and I was surprised that even though it is a Japan exclusive, all parts were labeled and easily understood in English. I had no real problems assembling the figurines other than some smaller intricate parts on the Landmaster tank. When I finished assembling all the parts for each individual model, I was rewarded with this:

Being modeled with my 3DS for size reference, they are overall pretty simple, but surprisingly detailed on the inside furnished with  mini-cockpits and windows. Even the Blue Marine came with a little stand for display. To date, these are the only known branded vehicles in the Star Fox universe to be commercially sold, although custom-made models do exist, this will be your only chance to own Fox’s Arwing, Landmaster, or Blue Marine vehicles. Although they are simplistic in color and design, they are a must-own for any Star Fox fan. Recommended.
