Today Nintendo held another one of their beloved Nintendo Direct presentations, giving us a glimpse of things to come and also concrete details on previously known Nintendo titles. Nintendo kicked off the event by announcing the new Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games for Wii U. It’s refreshing to see a Mario & Sonic title harness HD and crisper visuals on Nintendo’s newest home console.
Nintendo also confirmed a partnership with SEGA which includes 3 exclusive titles, 2 of which were announced during the Nintendo Direct presentation today, which includes Mario & Sonic, along with a new Sonic game dubbed Sonic: Lost World. Although only one screenshot was released today with very few details, we expect SEGA to fill us in more during this year’s E3.
Nintendo shed a little more light on 3 of their currently-known titles: Game & Wario, Pikmin 3, and The Wonderful 101. All 3 titles received confirmed release dates for this year and will release in North America on June 23, August 4th, and September 15th respectively.
Nintendo finally wrapped-up details on their large-scale DLC for New Super Mario Bros. U dubbed New Super Luigi U. Itwill be releasing on June 20th digitally as DLC on Nintendo’s eShop for $20or at retail for $30 on August 25th.
With E3 less than a month, can we expect any more Nintendo Directs? Nintendo has a lot riding on this E3, and if anyone can pull off the major comeback, they can!
